Garmin Nvi 760 GPS – The Review

Posted in GPS Receivers by Jay Wooten on July 25th, 2009

If you are someone who tends to get lost often and directions are Greek to you, someone might have already suggested that you invest in a navigator. That could possibly be the best advice someone has ever given you. Even if it doesn’t happen too often but you do sometimes travel to places that you don’t know, you might want to get your hands on a GPS Navigating device like the Garmin Nvi.

As you can imagine, getting lost in a strange place can be downright dangerous to say the least, but apart from that, it can also be not only annoying, but also extremely inconvenient. With a GPS device you will at least have peace of mind knowing that you can find your way around.

The remarkable thing amount the Garmin Nvi 760 is that it is stylish and easy to use, irrespective of whether or not you’ve ever used any form of GPS device. In fact, the 760 is so incredibly stylish that if you mount it on your dashboard it will look really trendy rather than looking out of place. Above all; the 760 has been designed so that anyone can use it, even if you are not technically minded.

One thing is for certain and that is; you don’t need to be technically minded in order to use a GPS device such as the Garmin Nvi 760. Instead, you simply have to type in the address of your destination and the device will then immediately let to know how to proceed from your current location.

Some of the features include: preloaded city navigators, hands free Bluetooth wireless technology, 4.3 inch color touch screen, and a white backlight with 480 x272 pixels. Another noticeable feature of the Garmin Nvi 760 is that it displays the speed limits for many of the highways and roads you drive on.

This is a nice feature because the roads don’t always tell you, but you can’t explain that to the Police Officer when they stop you for speeding, now can you? With the Garmin Nvi 760 you have no more reason to not obey the speed limit.

Over and above the many features, there are also a few technical details which will surely interest potential buyers, such as the fact that the 760 comes with a 12 channel receiver description, a detailed map of North America, and MP3 capability. Even the battery is quite remarkable considering it has a five hour life.

While some may be familiar with the previous model (Garmin Nvi 660), you can be rest assured that the 760 has a wealth of additional features, over and above the fact that it offers far more than the 660 did. The bottom line is; the 760 is certainly a better buy than the 660 in more ways than one, even though it is that little bit more expensive. However, as with many things in life, you get what you pay for and when one considers how many extra features are included with the 760, then it only stands to reason that it costs a little more.
