When the T-Mobile Dash was released it was a very popular phone. It had its quirks but it still was successful. T-Mobile wanted to create a seamless transition into the smartphone race so they decided to upgrade the already existing Dash. T-Mobile just released the Dash 3G and despite one or two flaws it is still a great phone for anyone who needs an affordable smartphone.

The Dash 3G has a great look and feel. It is a more professional looking phone due to the soft finish along the backside of it. The phone appears unique among all other shiny metal finished phones. The phone is not too big and will fit neatly into ones pocket. One of the more notable drawbacks to the Dash 3G is the screens small size. The resolution is only 320×240; in the smartphone world that isnt much. You may see some stray pixels when viewing photos, videos, websites etc. One the plus side the trackball navigator is very easy to use and will make surfing the web really easy. It is a step up over the rudimentary d-pad found on a lot of phones out there. Also the full QWERTY keyboard is very comfortable to utilize. The keys arent cramped and small like on most smartphones. The Dash 3G features a very spacious keyboard which anyone with big hands and fingers which surely appreciate. The buttons are easy to read because they were printed using very vibrant colors and ink.

The Dash 3G is able to link up and use the amazing 3G service. On this phone users will be able to surf the web and download content at amazing speeds. The phone also features an application for linking up email and instant messaging services. This allows users to receive email and message alerts straight to his or her own phone. Also made readily available is the expansive GPS tracking system. A Dash 3G customer will be able to receive real time voice directions utilizing the TeleNav Navigation system.

The camera found on the Dash 3G is really great. It is a 2 megapixel camera and takes nice looking photos for a camera phone. It is a big improvement over the mediocre 1.3 megapixel camera on the previous Dash. The camera has various presets and image control options allowing users to take very nice looking photographs. Surprisingly the Dash 3G is also able to record video. The video quality was admittedly OK but the video can be grainy if there is too much action happening in front of the camera.

The T-Mobile Dash 3G is a very good phone. It enhances and improves on everything the Dash did. Its a great phone for anyone who is looking for a versatile phone packed with amazing features. But be wary of the small screen.
